How to get exactly what you want

The only way to get to where you want to be is to know where you want to go.

Up until about 12 months ago I had a pretty vague idea about what I wanted - a loving marriage, a growing family and a job that I loved. Whilst these wants were completely valid (and are wants I still hold today), I really hadn't spent much time thinking deeper than this.

It was only when I started working with a Coach myself, that I took the time to really think about what I wanted and why I wanted it.

I dreamed up my idea of an incredible life....

  • I have a loving family. My relationship with my husband is rock solid and we have 2, maybe 3, beautiful children who are close in age and thicker than thieves. I remain super close with my sister, dad and aunts and regularly see the family for weekends away, impromptu dinners and lazy mid-week catch ups.

  • I have my own business where I empower women to live their best life. I host workshops, seminars + 1:1 sessions and make my clients feel supported and in good hands. I have variety in my work, running my own business whilst also consulting for others to keep my network broad, my skills fresh and my creativity wild. I work from different places but don't have a long commute #thedream.

  • I am financially free. My earning power far exceeds what I ever thought possible and I am fortunate to have the freedom to spoil my family, friends and self with beautiful things, travel abroad and make spur of the moment decisions about what I do, what I have and where I go.

  • I am fit, active and healthy. I regularly make time to workout, go for long walks and relax. I experiment with delicious and healthy recipes and take care of my mind, body and soul. I am blessed with good, no make that, GREAT health and I am able to move freely and peacefully.

  • I have a loving and expansive friendship group. I entertain... a lot and regularly enjoy quality time with friends and their families.

  • I live in a beautiful weatherboard family home with a pool. We're close to the beach (my happy place) and we enjoy open plan living so that I can be all up in everyone's grill when I feel like it. I have fun decorating (just me or does everyone start to love this as they get older?) and I create a loving retreat for my family.

  • I have a beach holiday escape. Just like when I was a kid, my family and I have somewhere down the coast that we can run away to. A little shack or house that's walking distance to the beach, safe to ride bikes around and little more than a few shops nearby. UPDATE: my husband and I bought a beach shack yesterday at Sandy Point, Victoria. Woot woot!

And now it's time to dream up your incredible life.

What do you want?

I want you to think long and hard about this, what do you want? Forget what other people want you to want, or what you’re expected to what, what do you REALLY want?

Get specific about what you want in both your personal and professional life. How do you want to feel? What do you want it to look like? Most importantly, why do you want it?

Start writing this down somewhere. Jot down your wants on post-it notes, make your own mood board, write it in a journal, record it on your phone, whatever works for you.

What's most important to you?

Once you’re clear on what you want, prioritise your wants. Whilst it’s possible to have everything you want, you can’t always have it all at once so let’s get our priorities straight; Is the round the world trip or the new home the focus?

Let's make it happen baby!

Then, start thinking about the things you can do to make your want a reality. Action (big or small) creates momentum and will bring you closer to what you want. Whilst your want may feel totally unattainable, unwavering focus and a daily commitment will bring your greatest desires closely to you.

Take the wants that you captured earlier and make sure they're visible to you every. single. day. Stick them to your bathroom mirror, pop them next to your bed or rest your vision board against your wall.

Breathe. Let the universe work its magic and know that you’ve set things in motion. You’re a woman with goals and a plan, and that’s a force to be reckoned with.

If you want extra support in getting clear on what you want and how to create this, I’d love to work with you! Book in for a complimentary Clarity Session and we can start mapping out your plan to greatness together.
